500 New Base Stations to Be Installed on Kazakhstan’s Highways
The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Transtelecom JSC (TTC) have signed an investment agreement to build telecom infrastructure along the country’s highways.
The project, implemented within the framework of the national program “Affordable Internet,” aims to eliminate so-called “white spots” — road sections where mobile communication is currently unavailable or unstable.
Key project parameters:
The project will be implemented without using state budget funds. The government will provide TTC with frequency resources, tax incentives, and guarantees of stable investment conditions.
More than 500 new antenna-mast facilities and mobile base stations will be built along national and regional highways.
To promote fair competition, TTC will ensure equal access to the entire infrastructure for other mobile operators under infrastructure sharing conditions. This will improve communication quality and internet availability for all citizens, regardless of which operator they use.
Transtelecom JSC is one of the largest telecom operators in the Republic of Kazakhstan, specializing in providing a wide range of telecommunications services and implementing large-scale infrastructure IT projects.
