New format of compulsory military service SARBAZ+ is launched in Kazakhstan
This fall, 150 conscripts will begin serving under the new model in military unit 78460 of the Air Defense Forces, located in the Almaty region.
The Ministry of Defense announced the launch of a pilot project for a new format of compulsory military service — SARBAZ+. The program is aimed at improving the quality of training of military personnel and integrating modern technologies into everyday army life, Kazpravda.kz reports.
SARBAZ+ will become a platform for testing solutions aimed at developing the personal and professional potential of soldiers, improving service conditions and introducing digital tools into the management of daily activities. The project envisages the integration of military service with elements of professional training, digital solutions, a medical monitoring system and organized leisure.
It is planned that each serviceman will be issued a fitness bracelet to track biometric indicators in real time. The data will be sent to a centralized monitoring system accessible to medical personnel and commanders, which will ensure constant control over the health of personnel. A video analytics system is also being introduced.
The project includes basic training programs in the field of telecommunications and IT — jointly with Kazakhtelecom and Transtelecom. Upon completion of the service, participants will be able to undergo certification and receive certificates that will be useful for employment. Training in the basics of operating unmanned aerial vehicles and radio communications is also planned. Additionally, classes in Kazakh and English will be organized.
